Women are always looking to take the next step to happiness. It even seems like there's already an established structure we should follow to get to that “happy stage.”
Depending on our backgrounds, the last two items on the list below can come sooner than later. Take a look, things kind-of go in this order:
-Study Elementary school
-Graduate from high school & hopefully find your sweetheart
-Get into a university & hopefully find a good partner to spend your life with
-Graduate from university
-Work on your career for a couple of years, while you're getting everything in place for your wedding
-Get married (FINALLY!)
-Have kids & keep up with your career OR switch to housewife mode - If you are lucky, you'll find a husband who can support your family
-If you are past your 30s and you haven't found a man/have kids. Start working on it ASAP!!
**The list can keep going, and let's also add to each of those check points, the fact that we are supposed to be cute, beautiful, sexy, and candid (you know just to be accepted by society, and to keep your partner by your side). If you take a detour or skip a step, you'll be a failure...
At this point of the read, you might be thinking... WHAT in the world Is this lady talking about on this article?!... and yes, you're right - I'd be freaking out too if I was reading a bunch of guidelines on how to live my life, or by accepting some crazy timeframes to get to the famous "next level".
Disclosure: By no fact am I an expert in life, I’m just sharing on here my point of view (for real, this time).
Every day I wake up in the morning, hoping I make the best decisions, and that my hard work pays off. Turns out, that the whole thing of "it's not the destination, it's the journey" has been making sense to me. I guess that 10 years ago it sounded like some more of my mom's BS, but no - she was actually right (like in almost all the cases)
Today, I would like to tell to as many women as possible that the whole list I wrote above, has NO MEANING while determining your worth. There is NO NEED of living your life running sprints. You are the only one who can look at where you are right now and say: "I am a successful human being." Making this mental affirmation will not only nurture your confidence and self-esteem, but it will also awaken your consciousness to make the best decisions.
Remember to be proud of who you are today. Celebrate your bright decisions. Allow yourself to fail, and to mess it up 1 time, 2 times, 3 times... a million times if necessary... Focus on the learnings of each fall, stand up, and keep moving forward. Trust me, as long as you keep investing time and effort on being the best version of yourself, YOU ARE BEING SUCCESSFUL.
There is no need to compare yourself with anyone. You are unique and special, just for the fact of existing. Do not let anyone tell you that you are not enough, that you should change your personality, or your beliefs. Remember that diversity makes life beautiful, and that there's no room for absolutes.
Enjoy the stage where you are, and let others find their happy path. Focus on yourself and your beloved ones today! At the end of the day, good memories and our pride it's all we have.
