And Away She Goes..

Nine months ago, I quit my job and quite literally sold everything I owned and bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok, Thailand.

Just three weeks after that, I packed a bag, said goodbye to the people I love, and left the United States.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure what I was doing or where I would end up, but what I did know was that it was my time to go. It was my time to break the pattern and truthfully, that mundane daily eat, sleep, work, repetitive lifestyle never really did work for me. This was different. I could feel it; it was time for me to finally see the world. This was it! It was time I actually say, “fuck it,” and a chance on me!

Embarking on this newfound adventure was both exhilarating yet terrifying. I’m sure you can imagine the worrisome thoughts that were flowing in and out of my mind.

“What did I just do?”

“Did I make a mistake?”

“Is it too late to turn back now?”

“What if something awful happens to me?”

With having sold everything I owned, there was nothing tying me to this place I used to call home. With that, it meant “a fresh start.” At this point, I just had to go with it, and see what happens!

And because I decided to go with my gut, and not marinate in fear and self-doubt, I’ve seen so many things that I never in my life thought I’d see. I’ve met so many indescribably beautiful people and have come across some of the most amazing hospitality; you just wouldn’t even believe. Hey, I even met my boyfriend for the first time at the airport in Bangkok! HA! Life’s weird, right?

As I type this out now, I still can’t believe that I’ve bicycle toured through Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India and was even able to spend a month backpacking in the Philippines and in just one short day, I will be landing in Hanoi, Vietnam. I never imagined such a life for me. I mean, I always dreamt of it, but to actually do it is an entirely different ballgame. What I’m getting at here is.. Sometimes, you just have to go with your gut, throw caution to the wind and go for it, even if you don’t know what’s going to happen because if you believe in yourself, you will only go far. You will only go up! Always love the life you live; never forget that.
