Human Barbie or Out-of-this-world warrior?

Valeria Lukyanova, is known as the “human Barbie” - The first time I saw her, I thought she was just another pretty girl, with a LOT of silicone. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that she doesn’t have a LOT of silicone, but after digging a little bit more - I realize that she carries a deeper message.

In many of her interviews, Valeria has clearly stated, that her intention was never to look like a Barbie. In a recent interview with Instyle.com, she was asked “Was there a moment you began to identify with Barbie?” and her answer was:

“There wasn't really a moment, even when I was assigned this image. I play the role that I like this image, but really, I'm indifferent to it”

Instead of trying to look like a doll, she states that for her, “perfection has no limits”, and that she’s just looking for constant improvements to look feminine and delicate. Check out the image below. Even if she’s not trying, she DOES look like a doll!

Some haters around the internet make fun of her, and claim that she’s stupid and vague. In my personal opinion:

Is she unconventional? Yes

Is she weird looking? Yes.

Is she stupid? I don’t think so.

It turns out that she is not the typical lifestyle blogger that focuses on makeup tutorials. Valeria has her own School of Out-of-Body Travel ( "an international school in which our instructors show students how to leave their physical body and travel in their spiritual body” ), is a DJ, fitness model, and influencer. Quite a little empire to run by a “stupid girl”, right?

With all this, I’m not trying to say that I agree with her beliefs and opinions, but it’s interesting to see how well she’s played her role. It is undeniable that either if you like her, or not, you’d have a conversation about her.  Is her personality real, or is it fiction? We’ll never know.

I’m a positivist, that’s why I would like to invite you to check out a few observations I have from my research about Valeria:

  • Stay true to your beliefs: the more certain, and convinced you are about your preachings, the more people you will impact!

  • Haters are gonna hate: being different has always been hard. When people don’t understand something, they tend to be mean, and destructive. Find your inner strength, and nourish your soul with it.

  • Plastic surgery? - Own it: If you are pro-plastic surgery, and have gotten a few “improvements”, just own it if someone asks about it. There’s nothing worst than denying the obvious. If it makes you feel more comfortable in your own skin, you’re winning (same goes with make up)

  • Beautiful women are smart: Ok, this is a fact, we all know it at SMV. It’s time to start taking beauty stigmas down. Yes, you can look like a doll, and also have a brain!

  • If you have a goal, go for it!: Valeria has lately shown amore “fit” image. She has been inspired by Medusa, the mythical greek goddess. She’s worked out hard, and has achieved that “fuller look”.  Do you want something? Go for it girl!

Diversity makes our world beautiful, and unique - weirdness is attractive, and hypnotizing. I could still not tell you what I feel when I look at Valeria. She is an unique “human being”, and I have to admit that I’m now intrigued about those Out-of-body adventures!

Til the next one, my beauty peaches!

With love,

G
