We are constantly approached for our ok on shoes and coordinating colors in outfits. Have you ever been asked your opinion on how to resolve equity in the workplace? Me neither.
The Women's March will be taking place this weekend nationwide. Women will march for peace, for equity, for freedom. Our voices need to be heard and we need to represent the voices that have been victims of the never ending violence, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, workers rights, civil rights, disability rights, immigrant rights, indigenous peoples rights and environmental justice.
We have so much to fight for sisters!! We must bring these issue to the light and encourage each other to never settle!! Being a woman in a so called man's world is tough enough. We too deserve better wages, higher positions in political office and in business administrations. We should decide whether we want to transform our bodies to be a better version of ourselves, not legislation.
Over 5 million women marched in unison across the states last year. Let's not put the hard work and dedication women put in to pass the 19th amendment (women's right to vote) to waste. This March comes in perfect timing after the Me Too scandals. The stars are finally aligning, and the issues are surfacing showing its ugly face. This is our time. We are coming together as one to show just how fierce we can be. C’mon now, we bleed for 7 days and we still don't die! Women were born strong.
The median woman makes 79 cents to every dollar a man makes for the same line of work. If your African American, 60 cents. If you're Hispanic, 55 cents. The list is long ladies and it only gets worse.
The Women's Suffrage Movement is happening now! Let's make history repeat itself and fight towards a better future for ourselves and those who are still too naive to understand how unequal our world is becoming. We must not lose our focus now.
