Christina, is that you?

Christina Aguilera is back like she never - well, she never really left.

Unapologetic, fashion forward & 18 Grammy nominated artist, Christina Aguilera, stripped herself of the conventional shadows, foundations and lipsticks to photograph completely natural for the “Transformation 2018” shoot with Paper Magazine. She’s almost unrecognizable.

Her youthful glow, light blue eyes + peeking freckles has everyone swoon but don’t get comfy she clarified the brief exception by saying, "I mean, I'm a girl that likes a beat face, let's not get it twisted!"

When you look good, you feel good, right? Except we have forgot to celebrate that putting down the beauty blender can also be considered looking good. Christina is known for & proudly addresses being in “character” with her plethora of looks - aside from her natural presentation she opened up about her creativity, inspirations & sexuality.

What has she been up to?

Growing where planted for, now. "I can't stay in a stagnant place for too long, which is why I think the position I was in with television just became very stifling," she says, referencing her six-season term on The Voice. "I need movement, I need to go explore, be an artist, create and transform." I feel you.

Who inspires the “risque” legend?

She name drops Childish Gambino ("He's genius"), Chance the Rapper ("He's made it without a label, without any strings attached, and being so charismatic at the same time") and Cardi B ("She makes people really crack up just by being herself, and it's genuine.")

She spills a known fact about the forever evolving industry in comparison to years ago as an artist, "It was more of a slow-moving thing, and now it's like, a different red carpet look. It's very interesting how that happens."

What’s the advice she offers the corporates to creatives?

"Be fearless in breaking new boundaries and don't be afraid to go against the grain of criticism along the way."

Christina confirms the toss up women have between our “image” and being sexually expressive - “Either women are not sexual enough or we’re not fulfilling enough of a fantasy for you, but then if we’re overtly sexual or feeling empowered in a certain kind of way, then we’re shamed for it.” Never choose between the two sides, be both!

What we at Sunday Morning View love most?

“I'm at the place, even musically, where it's a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty."

Noted, Christina.

Big Love,

Ni
