The New New Year’s

It’s June…I know, already. We have reached the halfway point and the official start date for Summer is just a few days away. While I’m ready for orange leaves and pumpkin everything, because I hate the blazing heat, realizing that it is already June has made me think of one thing My New Year’s Resolutions. Most of us forget about them by February, but I was determined to get to the end of 2018 checking each resolution off my list.

If you feel like you’ve failed at keeping your resolutions thus far don’t worry because today can be your New Year’s. In fact, I think the midpoint of the year should be everyone’s New New Year’s. I decided to revisit what was so important to me at the end of 2017, and I also made some revisions. So, for the rest of the year, I will be...

More Intentional With My Time

Between a 9-5, remembering to eat breakfast, and staying hydrated, life can seem like it’s on repeat. Not only does that get hella boring, but it can also leave room for things to slip through when you feel like you’re on autopilot. Instead, make small intentional choices every day to help get you to where you want to go. Being intentional doesn’t have to be goal oriented either. Just light a candle and take a moment to breathe.

Do Something That Scares Me

There are just too many “what if” scenarios out there, but it’s time to put them out of our minds. There’s that loop that plays in my head too that says “what if everything you’ve dreamt of comes true, and it’s not enough”? Bull! Rather than worry about all the things that would go wrong, I think of how amazing it will feel when they turn out right. My new motto is if it scares me that’s probably a good sign I should be pursuing it.

Worry Less About Me

Whaaat, in the time of “you, do you” and “love yourself”!?! Hear me out. I want to worry less about what I need and start focusing on others needs first. At the end of the day, things are not as bad as we think, yet we tend to worry ourselves into a frenzy. Taking the focus off of all our problems can bring insight, and also relief.  Remember nothing last forever not happiness and not sadness. Take each day as it comes, and help someone else in need.

2018 is halfway done but that doesn’t mean your resolutions have to die. Revive them or make new ones because it’s The New New Year’s, or just Wednesday but you get it.
