f you’ve been following SundayMorningView for a while now, you’ve probably realized that we like butts! All kinds of butts; big and juicy, small and cute, ones with stretch marks, freckles, cellulite, dimples, and more.

Well, I want to introduce you to Meegan Barnes. An artist who loves butts just as much, if not more than we do!

Meegan has made a career of sculpting butts and we can’t get enough!

I reached out to her to ask her a couple of questions, and here they are:

1. What inspired you to start sculpting butts?

I went to Bahia, Brazil for 4 months to surf and paint and just recharge. While I was there, I was so inspired by all the body positivity. I saw so many butts of all shapes and sizes being flaunted and appreciated.

Women were just like, yep, this is my bunda! When I came back, I started working with clay and the very first thing I made was a butt.

Then I made another and another and it just became my thing.

2. Do people (especially women) ever ridicule you for your booty obsession?

Not to my face. ;-) They called me the Butt Lady at my first ceramics studio but I think it was more a term of endearment.

3. Some women may feel you are exploiting them. How do you handle this kind of criticism?

Again, no one has said anything to me yet. I think because the butts I sculpt and paint aren’t overtly sexy or exploitative. They are meant to be a joyous, celebration of a woman’s assets (pun intended).

Really, they’re just meant to make you smile.

4. What is it about the (women’s) body that you love and admire most?

Our curves!! I used to hide mine and still struggle with total acceptance, but when I see a curvy woman strutting her stuff, it’s so empowering.

5. What are 3 of your favorite pieces and why?

I have 4!

1.     P{r}aise The Booty - Love the idea of the men worshiping and supporting her butt cheeks at the same time. Also, I love the title.

2.     Fendi Booty - because it comes with a matching fanny pack.

3.     Break The Internet - An oldie but goodie based on the Kim Kardashian Paper Magazine cover. It was fun making the champagne bottle and stringing the LED lights.

4.     Buns of Steel - Because its a butt literally made of stainless steel. (There’s a gold bronze one too that I love even more cause I’m a gold freak)

Thank you Meegan for sharing your wonderful art with us! We thoroughly enjoy your inspirational work! It's BootiFULL!🍑
