How learning your poses and angles
like Dominique Muscianese can boost your self-esteem instantly
Artistic photographer and model Dominique Muscianese is like any other woman—she loves spending time with her dog, exploring new experiences, and enjoying good food. Found on her Instagram photography page @DOMONIZIAPhoto, Dominique has years of experience in the modeling industry and a passion for capturing people in their most beautiful forms.
Before embracing modeling, Dominique struggled with her self-image. She recalls,
“Before I had my glow-up stage at 18, I never felt pretty enough to be a model because I would constantly look up to supermodels and compare myself to their similar pretty features.”
It wasn’t until she moved to Los Angeles and took a leap of faith into the profession that she began embracing her uniqueness. Over time, she gained confidence to participate in artistic nude photoshoots and became a proud Bare Model, inspiring others to celebrate their bodies.
Her advice for women struggling with self-love is simple:
“There is no secret way to fall in love with yourself, it’s just a matter of putting yourself first and telling yourself you’re beautiful during both high and low times.”
Her self-love tip? Give yourself a compliment every day, and surround yourself with positive energy. As Dominique says,
“A woman’s body is the closest thing there is to magic.”

Q&A with Dominique Muscianese
Tell us about yourself
Dominique: My name is Dominique, and I am a model and artistic photographer. I love painting, eating, and spending time with my dog. I’m a big homebody but love adventuring and trying new things. I’m goofy and chill, but I take my passions seriously. Being in the modeling industry for all these years, I’ve developed a love for posing and capturing people in their most beautiful form. I also help others grow through posing instruction.
How have you struggled in the past to appreciate or love your body, and how did you overcome that struggle?
Dominique: Growing up, I was always told to model, but I always felt different. Before my glow-up at 18, I never felt pretty enough because I compared myself to supermodels. Moving to LA forced me out of my comfort zone and helped me embrace the things that make me different. Participating in beautiful, artistic nude shoots as a Bare Model allowed me to see myself in a new light and finally overcome those struggles.
What do you love most about your body?
Dominique: I love my curves, my skin color, and my eyes and lips.

What makes you feel confident with your body and who you are?
Dominique: I enjoy taking photos of myself, learning my body, and discovering poses that work well. Many women feel bad about their bodies because they see unflattering photos or feel awkward in front of the camera. Learning your shape, curves, and angles is key to appreciating yourself.

Do you have any self-care or self-love tips?
Dominique: Give yourself a compliment every day, even if you’re not feeling it. Taking a shower and getting ready for the day boosts self-esteem. Surround yourself with people who hype you up.

What do you think makes you beautiful?
Dominique: I love my smile. I do a lot of strong, fierce shoots, so rarely do I get to see it. When I smile during a shoot, it shows a side of my personality most people don’t see. Beauty isn’t just looks—it’s your personality. My happy and upbeat nature is something people notice.

What message do you have for other women who struggle to appreciate and love their bodies?
Dominique: There is no secret to falling in love with yourself. It’s about putting yourself first and telling yourself you’re beautiful during both high and low times.
Anything else you’d like readers to know?
Dominique: Inspired by posing and how it helped me love myself, I created MODXDOM, a service where I teach people how to pose and appreciate their bodies. It’s a community full of positivity and empowerment for women. Check it out!
