See how Bare Model Bailey

overcame body shaming and gained confidence in her daily life

Today we have the pleasure of speaking with Bailey, a Bare Model, mother, athlete, and advocate for self-love. Her journey of body acceptance and empowerment is both inspiring and relatable. Follow her on Instagram @TheQweenBayOfficial and explore her gallery of wall art at Obare Gallery.

How have you struggled in the past to appreciate or love your body, and how have you overcome that struggle?

Bailey: As long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with my body image. I constantly needed validation that I was beautiful and worthy. From being a mixed-race woman to being an athlete, a mother, and a model, I have faced challenges with my body. I’ve been bullied, shamed for my skin tone, athletic build, my racial ambiguity, and even my maternal status.

I even experienced body shaming within my own family over the way I dressed and wore my hair. I had never fully felt accepted as I was.

What helped me the most was speaking life and truth into other women. Hearing myself lift others up changed me, and ultimately helped me reframe my inner dialogue and embrace my own body fully.

As a Bare Model, participating in artistic nude shoots has also taught me to appreciate and celebrate my body in its natural form.

What do you love most about your body?

Bailey: I love how strong my body is and the constant flow of energy I feel moving through it. I love how grounded and at home I feel in my own skin, and how my body has served me through thick and thin. Physically, I love my spots and the way my skin is an ever-changing work of art that I get to explore every few months.

What does self-love mean to you?

Bailey: To me, self-love means embracing every part of myself while honoring the things I love about my body. More importantly, it’s about not allowing others to make me feel guilty for the things I don’t like as much about myself.

Self-love means unfollowing trends that don’t serve me and doing what I feel compelled to do—what makes me feel the best.

Being a Bare Model has also reinforced self-love by showing me how beautiful the human body is in its natural form.

What message do you have for other women who struggle to appreciate and love their bodies?

Bailey: It’s ok to struggle—it’s perfectly normal, and you are not alone. Struggling is part of the process; it’s your body and mind telling you that you are ready for change.

I can’t tell you exactly what to do—that’s for you to discover—but I can promise that when you intentionally seek ways to love yourself, those small steps add up to big shifts. I am living proof that if you fight through your difficulty, you WILL reach the other side.

QUEEN, it’s amazing here. I wish nothing but to meet you in this place of liberation—from others’ opinions and even your own harsh judgment.

Tips for the journey:

  • Find what works for you
  • Take one intentional step at a time
  • Be patient and give yourself grace
  • Expect challenges
  • Listen to your body
  • Don’t fear lessons from failure
